Seminar on “The Role of Forest Activities in Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainability Approaches” Held with Institutional Collaboration
A seminar titled “The Role of Forest Activities in Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainability Approaches” was organized in cooperation between Çankırı Karatekin University Vocational School of Food and Agriculture and the Provincial Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, with the participation of staff members from both institutions.
The event emphasized the critical importance of biodiversity for ecosystem health, climate balance, and human well-being. Topics included the protection of species diversity in forest ecosystems, the ecological impacts of forestry practices, and their direct and indirect effects on biodiversity. Scientific and practical insights were also shared regarding the role of sustainable forestry in nature conservation policies and in combating climate change.
The seminar was delivered in an interactive format, blending academic knowledge with field experience. Participants exchanged ideas on practical solutions that can contribute to nature conservation efforts at both local and global levels.
At the conclusion of the event, it was noted that participants gained greater awareness of the need to evaluate forest activities not only from an economic perspective but also in terms of their ecological and social dimensions.
