Program of Field Crops

General Information

 

Field Crops Program, which was opened under the name of Plant and Animal Production Department at the meeting of YÖK Executive Board on 21.12.2011, started its activities by accepting students in the 2012-2013 academic year. Educational activities continue with 60 students in the Field Crops program.

The Field Crops Program is a 2-year program that operates to meet the intermediate staff needs of the public and private sectors in the fields of agriculture. Students who receive education from this program graduate with the title of technician.

 

Purpose and Objectives of the Program

To conduct education and research on the cultivation and improvement of Cereals, Edible grain legumes, Oil, Fiber, Starch, Sugar, Feed and Medicinal plants, management and improvement of Meadows and Pastures.

This program aims to meet the intermediate staff needs of institutions, organizations and individuals engaged in activities such as production, research, and development in the field of field crops in both the public and private sectors.

Mission

Vision

The aim of this program is to answer the needs of institutions, organizations and individuals engaged in activities such as production, research and development in the field of field crops in both the public and private sectors by the intermediate staff.

 

Program Learning Outcomes

 

1          To have adequate infrastructure field crops, breeding, seed production, plant genetics, physiology, ecology, biotechnology and grassland breeding,

2          To have the ability of choosing and applying ıssues related to problems that identify, research, and solving, proper scientific analytical methods and modeling techniques this purpose,

3          To have the ability of efficient and high-quality problem for crop production, and the process of analyzing the components of this problem, in this context, the application of modern methods of cultivation and breeding

4          To be able to choose and use modern techniques and tools needed for the applications the ability to use information technology effectively,

5          To be able to plant breeding, plant genetics and breeding, plant biotechnology, seed production field and laboratory conditions on trial planningthe experimentto make, data collection, evaluate the results in terms of plant growing and breeding

6          To be able to determine the appropriate materials and methods application of related to the field environment the effective recognition,

7          To access information and resources for this purpose to do research, the ability to use databases and other information resources,

8          To be able to work in multidisciplinary teams and as an individual, taking responsibility, self-reliance

9          To be able to manage under the responsibility of the employees

10       To be able to communicate effectively verbal and written.

11       Awareness and ability to prioritize protecting the environment and biological diversity, informing and warning the society on these issues, awareness of the necessity of lifelong learning; have the ability to monitor and use science and technologies and to constantly renew themselves.

12       Solutions and applications to be aware of the effects of universal and social dimensions of entrepreneurship and innovation to become aware of the issues and knowledge of contemporary issues, providing solutions and to share information with the responsible parties.
