Field Trip to Eldivan Forests by Wildlife and Game Management Program Students

On June 11, 2025, students from the Wildlife and Game Management Program at Çankırı Karatekin University Vocational School of Food and Agriculture conducted a technical field trip to the Eldivan Forests.

During the trip, officials from the Forest Management Directorate and teams from the Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks provided both theoretical and practical information on-site. The field activities included small mammal trapping, camera trap installation for large mammals, examination of terrain structure and stand characteristics, as well as other hands-on exercises.

Students also observed ongoing harvesting operations in the forest and received practical training on log scaling and volume estimation techniques. In addition, they analyzed forest management maps to better understand planning and inventory practices. Academic staff accompanying the trip contributed by sharing field-based insights from their areas of expertise.

This field trip offered Wildlife and Game Management students an immersive learning experience in nature, reinforcing their theoretical knowledge and enhancing their practical skills.
