Protected Areas in Turkish Forests and Their Importance” for Middle School Students by the Vocational School of Food and Agriculture

Assistant Professor Dr. Seda Erkan Buğday, one of the faculty members of Çankırı Karatekin University Vocational School of Food and Agriculture, delivered a training titled “Protected Areas in Turkish Forests and Their Importance” to middle school students at Çankırı Yunus Emre Middle School on 18 November 2025.

During the training, various types of protected areas in Türkiye—such as national parks, nature parks, nature conservation areas and wildlife conservation areas—were introduced, and their critical role in conserving biodiversity, securing the habitats of endangered species, regulating the climate and protecting water resources was emphasized.

At the end of the program, students actively participated by asking their questions, and the message that “the future of Türkiye’s forests is safeguarded by today’s environmentally conscious children” was highlighted.
